Buffy Anne Summers
By Jason

The following year a lot of things have changed. Buffy, Oz and Willow are freshman at UC Sunnydale, Giles no longer has a job, Xander is still living at home and Angel is no longer in Sunnydale. Buffy is scared. She hasn't faced anything like this before - College. Buffy has lost some of her confidence and she no longer knows if she can hack it. However Xander comforts her and before she knows it she is back to her old slaying ways.

Yet there is more to UC Sunnydale than Buffy realises. Soldiers are running around covertly capturing vampires and other demons and turning them into harmless animals. However Buffy is quickly falling for another man - Parker Abrams who captures Buffys heart. Fairly quickly they end up in bed together, yet the next day Parker dumps Buffy as he was only in it for fun. Buffy is crushed and seeks comfort in beer. However this is no ordinary beer, it manages to turn Buffy into a "Caveslayer" a Cro-Magnum. She is still able to save the day however, and finds closure by clubbing Parker as he apologises to her.

Buffy soon attracts a new man - Riley Finn. Riley Finn (among other things) is the teaching assistant for Maggie Walsh who takes Buffy for Psych101. But Riley like Buffy has a secret. He is a commando, a soldier working for the Initiative who are capturing demons and turning them into harmless puppies. Maggie Walsh is his leader and his friends Forrest and Graham are fellow soldiers.

Buffy learns this information from none other than William the Bloody aka Spike. Spike returned to Sunnydale in search for the Gem of Amarra. The Gem will make the vampire who wears it invincable. Yet Buffy is able to take it off Spike and send it to Angel in L.A. where she knows it will be in good hands. Soon after this happened however Spike himself has been turned into a harmless puppy by the Initiative. Having nothing left to lose he joins forces with the Scooby Gang and offers them information...for a price.

Eventually Buffy puts the pieces together when she sees Riley in full Commando gear. They are both battling the Gentlemen when they both see each other in action. They both feel betrayed by each other for having a secret identity. Buffy seeks some distance form Riley, however Riley believes that there could be nobody better matched for each other than himself and Buffy and soon Buffy thinks this way too.

Riley tells Maggie Walsh about his discovery of "the slayer" and Buffy is admitted into the Initiative on a guests pass. Maggie is extremely impressed with Buffy's ability iin being able to take out a whole team of her Commandos. Yet this would not last. Buffy becomes more and more inquisitive as to the intentions of the Initiative especially what 314 is all about. Maggie Walsh decides that Buffy is too much of a risk to her big master plan, and orders Buffy's death by trapping her with two demons and a faulty phaser gun. Yet to Prof. Walsh's surprise Buffy overcomes all this and warns her of what she is getting herself into saying.

You really don't know what a slayer is

Riley witnesses this, but doesn't know what has happened other than Prof Walsh has told him Buffy is dead and Buffy is still alive on the video screen warning Walsh of what she has done. The next thing Riley knows, Prof. Walsh is dead.

First off the Initiative believe Buffy to be responsible for the Professors death, however it is soon brought to life that Maggie was creating a monster called Adam. Adam was built out of parts of demons, humans and machines and is best described as a hybrid demon. He has gone on a rampage and his victims include Maggie and Dr Angleman, demons, animals and young children. By doing so he seeks to find his purpose and he starts to build an army of followers mainly vampires at first to organize his attack and create a population of hybrid demons.

While this is all happening Faith awakens from her coma. She awakens to find a world that has changed significantly and automatically starts gunning for Buffy. To aid in her quest for revenge, the now dead Mayor has left Faith a parting gift a device that will allow Faith to switch bodies with Buffy. Faith does so, and consequently Buffy is hunted down by both the police and the Watchers Council.

Willow's friend Tara however notices that Buffy isn't Buffy and with Willow creates a similar device that enabled Faith to switch bodies with Buffy (only the homemade version). Buffy is then able to use this device to return herself to her original body. Faith then flees to Los Angeles, leaving a rift between Buffy and Riley as Faith as Buffy slept with Riley.

Through a series of events however Buffy and Riley's relationship strengthens. It has strengthened so much that Buffy feels capable of telling Riley about her relationship with Angel. However she doesn't tell him the trigger that turns Angel back to Angelus, the fact that she slept with him. This is left up to Xander who unknowingly told Riley this after he thought Riley knew everything. Buffy pursues Faith to Los Angeles and faces an angry indifferent Angel who is trying to put Buffy behind him and try to redeem Faith. So when Angel follows her back to Sunnydale and starts throwing Riley and his fellow Commandos around, Riley makes the mental leap that Angel is back to his old tricks because Buffy slept with Angel again. This is not the case however, Angel has returned to Sunnydale to apologise to Buffy for hitting her in L.A. Buffy realizes here that her and Angel have made their final break, they both live in different worlds now. Although she will forever love Angel, he only represents the past.

Buffy then has to face her toughest assignment yet - Adam. Spike has joined forces with Adam and torn the Scooby Gang apart, as the only way to beat Buffy is to split her from her friends. However Buffy is able to rise over this challenge and restore her relationiship with the rest of the gang. To defeat Adam, Buffy draws on extra power from the primal source of the slayers power, but she cannot do this without the help from Giles, Willow and Xander. So powerful does Buffy become that she manages to easily defeat Adam in a no contest match.

"This isn't your business. it's mine. You, the Initiative the suits in the Pentagon...You're all messing with Primeval forces you can't begin to understand. I'm the Slayer. And you're playing on my turf." - Buffy in "PRIMEVAL".

However the spell that gave Buffy these powers, is not without consequences. The first slayer is called to destroy those people who dare access the power. Yet when Buffy is face to face with the first slayer she stands strong. Buffy does not sleep on a bed of bones; she has a life; she is not a demon. She has friends and she walks in this world.

"You think you know, but you have no idea what you are, what's to come." - Tara in PRIMEVAL
